2012 Spring Courses Now Posted!
March 14, 2012 - 2009 IBC Significant Changes
A look at the changes in requirements and organization between the 2006 and
2009 Editions and how the new changes affect the design, review, and
inspection of building systems.
March 15, 2012 - 2009 IBC Solving Means of Egress Issues in Commercial Buildings
This course covers the fundamentals and issues revolving around an issue
common to all buildings: How to provide safe ingress and egress from a
building.
2012 Fire and Building Official Forum
The Fire and Building Official Forum will be April 11-12, 2012. The Alaska Central
Chapter will be sponsoring two courses the following two days.
In addition, the Chapter is proud to welcome Jimmy Brothers, Immediate Past President
of the International Code Council.
April 12, 2012 - Legal Aspects of Code Administration
Providing an overview of the legal aspects of the code, from maintenance to
prosecution, consequences of action or inaction, and how to apply applicable
laws towards building code enforcement.
April 13, 2012 - 2009 IFC Performing Commercial Fire Inspections
Covers the process of inspecting commercial buildings for fire code compliance.
Includes an understanding of the major areas of fire inspections, construction
types and occupancies, and applicable code provisions, requirements or
standards for a given fire/life safety issue.
